Sweet Sadness
My daughter, Julie, and I are creating a memory quilt for me from favorite shirts of my late husband, Howard. I have carefully selected several of them that I know he liked and wore many times, now finding new homes on a patchwork quilt I will cherish.
The pattern on the cloth reflects stripes and checks of blue, brown, and even pink or black on the precious garments. We are saving wide strips of blue jeans to border the width and length of the quilt between the stitched squares of memories.
A warm, fluffy blanket will be attached to the quilt's under side, a forever memory of the happiness of the 62 years the Lord gave us.
